![]() ![]() ![]() I was thinking seriously about getting an LCP II because of the reports of an improved trigger, but I decided to look around and see what could be done with the action on the Gen 1.Īfter reading a lot of good reviews I ordered a spring kit for $30 from. The slide is tiny and hard to get a good grip on, and the springs are so heavy it is difficult to chamber a round or perform a status check. That is the last thing you need in a defensive pistol. Many times I have thought "malfunction" and come off the trigger, only to realize I just hadn't gotten to the end of the trigger pull. The trigger pull hits a wall at the very end and it feels like the pistol is not going to fire. The only things I don't like about it are the heavy trigger pull and the difficulty racking the slide. No, it isn't a death ray, but it is perfect for a backup gun or when you just can't carry something more effective. It is so light and small I can carry it anywhere in a pocket holster and can shoot it accurately. My little Ruger LCP Gen 1 is one of the handiest firearms I've ever used. ![]()
